WINTER PROJECTS 2010
The idea is to bring as many varnishing projects home as possible. First the bow and aft hatches. Made 2 temporary  hatches out of old plywood.
Exterior varnishing is 1 coat of SeaFin oil as saeler and then 8-10 coats of Interlux Schooner varnish. I use USA made JEN Poly-foam brushes and I follow Rebecca Whitman's book "BRIGHTWORK, The Art of Finishing Wood"

The previous owner used Cetol on this wheel. I don't like the colour or gloss of Cetol so am converting to Varnish.
Just after starting to strip. My stripping method of choice is heat gun & scraper. This project has me thinking about a paint stripper

Ok, now we're committed. Going to be big project.

  1. bccanucker... looks like this is a bit dated but I thought I'd see if you still had the Albin 36 and could give advice. I am looking at them. Jonathan
